Being a DJ requires more than just having an ear for what is a sick beat or not or knowing the latest in the music scene. It also requires a deep understanding of all the equipment that that will produce the beat or "thumpa thumpa" that will bring the crowd in a state of ecstasy. A skillful usage of equipments produces a great mix that will bring out the "party animal" in every person in the room and will certainly rock the house down. Some of the must have tools and equipments are as follow:
Speaker and Amplifier Set - Choose a decent set that will produce great sound output. A basic set would include speakers, a sound monitor and an amplifier. Having a wireless microphone is a big plus.
Computer - Either a laptop or desktop with the specifications that suit most DJ softwares.
DJ CD/MP3 Player - Chose one with direct folder search feature that allows easy access and toggling of music files and one that can be placed to CDJ and Vinyl mode.
Turntable - Another must have equipment for DJs. It is the best equipment to practice on if you are a just starting to learn the art of DJing. One preferred brand is the Technics 1200/1210.
DJ Needles and Cartridges - Used for playing vinyl and scratching.
